Entrepreneurship is hard! If it were easy to form, start and maintain a small business, everybody would be doing it! It truly takes a lot of hard work to even get your feet in the game...and once you're in the game you gotta work even harder to stay in the mix.
As we continue to celebrate our 5th year of service, here are a few things we've learned along the way.
5 Keys to The Making of a Brand:
1. Set clear goals. Know your market.
It's not enough to only have a great ideal, you should also write the VISION and make it PLAIN. Have a clear idea of what you aim to do. Know who your target audience is. Know your market and research your competitors. Is there a gap you can fill? Or is the industry already saturated? What new things can you do to help accomplish your goals?
2. Get your team in place!
Don't wait until you open your doors officially or in other words "set up shop" ti form a team. It takes more than one person to help make a business viable and good leaders know how and when to delegate task to others. YOU CANNOT BUILD A BRAND ALONE. Choose people who not only support your vision, but who also have something of value (skill, talent etc) to add to the mix.
3. Never Give Up!
A good friend recently said to me: "Our passions become validated when we don't give up on them easily!." Making your brand should push beyond your circumstances because business is always up and down. Outside factors (family, job, etc.) will not cease just because you build a company. Learning to balance work/life and keeping with moving forward is crucial.
