We are NOT Helpless and Hopeless

Sometimes the indigent people are the ones we take advantage of the most. How do I know this? Well just look around you! The poor, not the affluent, are suffering. It's happening right in our own communities in front of our very eyes. Public school systems are suffering. There are limited resources or recreational services available for our children. Abandon buildings, crime, illiteracy all plague an already broken community. Why then do we wait for, or expect others to help us instead of helping ourselves?

The Flint water crisis is only a recent example of how people in positions of power benefit off of the needs of others. While the results are still playing out, be careful to keep your eyes on the money that comes in and where it goes. Flint as well as the entire state of Michigan stand to gain millions of dollars in aid, to assist with the recovery from this disaster. I almost wonder if this was the end game of the people who could have prevented this in the first place? Money talks! Help, compassion and kindness- not so much!
